What is benign prostatic hyperplasia?
Benign prostatic hyperplasia, often called benign prostatic hypertrophy, is a non-cancerous condition characterized by enlargement or overgrowth of the prostate gland resulting in the formation of nodules which can interfere with the normal flow of urine.
